In which I ask your opinion on the matter of head-shots

Me: Hey, Internet, if you have a minute, can you help me pick out an author picture?
Internet: OMG, YES WE HAVE OPINIONS

In case you missed the announcement on my Facebook page, final tally is in:

After 353 votes, Final Tally for the official “author photo” is:

Photo 1 = 159
Photo 2 = 173
Photo 3 = 4
Photo 4 = 17

So I sent in Picture 2 as my official photo! Thanks everyone for making this whole process such fun for me. I did put a smiling-and-wearing-my-beloved-dorky-glasses picture on my About page as a peace offering. Love doing all this weird stuff with you guys.

Brian and I celebrated 14 years since our first date (the day before Valentine’s Day) this week. Sometimes it feels like two or three lifetimes ago, we were such different people then. And so I couldn’t resist sharing this picture of us from a banquet probably a month or so after that date. We look about 12 years old (we were 19), and Brian still had acne. It makes me all kinds of happy.

weekend meditation

Generation after generation stands in awe of your work, each one tells stories of your mighty acts.

Your beauty and splendour have everyone talking, I compose songs of your wonders.

Your marvellous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness. …

God is all mercy and grace – not quick to anger, is rich in love. God is good to one and all; everything he does is suffused with grace.

Psalm 145 : 4-9

Thank you for including me, Sarah. Some fine company here, and I’m not ashamed to say I just enjoyed the full variety of Beyonce hip thrust gifs.

OH MY GOSH THAT PICTURE! I have one on my desk at school like that (19 and 20 I think) and my students want to know who it is! I love this so much.

Amanda’s post on finding God in a little white pill was a balm for my heart. So often I feel alone in that way or like less of a woman or mother or Christian, yet after those words… less so.

I also loved Brenna D’Ambrosio’s take on Beyonce as well, totally different side of the spectrum but amazing. http://chicagomama-brenna.blogspot.com/2013/02/why-i-love-beyonce.html

I saw that instagram when you posted it on FB. So awesome!

I started dating my husband in high school too and it’s been such a wonderful thing to watch each other grow up. :)
