In which I take a break

I’m taking a few days off from writing, from blogging, from reading blogs/news online, from Twitter, and from Facebook.

I need some rest and space for my soul to breathe, I feel a bit short.

See you in a while, friends.

Good for you. I’m doing the same, but it’s to write course syllabi, which really means when I get to a mental block academically, I poke around on Facebook or Twitter, hoping to find inspiration. ;)

I thought you were going to shut down the blog for like 6 months of something and I was going to type: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! or something smart like that…

It’s refreshing. I think I’m back from what was a much longer break than expected. Enjoy!

enjoy your rest!!! kathy escobar took the month of july off from blogging…and i’m about to take four weeks off beginning next week. Not easy as my readership is gaining momentum.I texted Kathy when she announced her July break to thank her for inspiring courage in me. I know I need to push back the electronics and virtual world and soak in the summer sun and play time of the real world. And though my blog will get empty, I will get filled .

So. Thank you, too,Sarah, for inspiring courage in me to take a break. The blogosphere will always get on without us!!

I am glad, teacher of mine. It has been a difficult season for many of us, and I’m sure you have felt that.

I really need to get a headshot and start commenting for real on this and a couple of other blogs that are getting me through right now.

I am in the midst of leaving my church, because they decided yesterday to take a “stance against the culture” and exclude women from leadership, and make very clear that they will not put up with egalitarian nonsense any longer. Something about chicken and the internet and fighting against and standing up.

My heart is broken. But I am glad that there is a community here, and on a few other ladies’ blogs that I’ve recently discovered, for me to find encouragement in my faith in Christ, and know that I don’t have to leave Him, just this toxic environment. I am grieving right now, but your blog and others’ gives me hope. Thanks for writing.

Melissa, my heart breaks with you, sister … I have walked the same sad path — and been upheld by my virtual community. Lean into Jesus … he knows the way through the darkness.

        Thank you so much, Peggy.
