- In line with my recent post about housekeeping (or the lack thereof, if we’re being honest), I found that A Holy Experience recently wrote about the same thing. But much more beautifully and poetically than I ever could. So there you go.
- Kingdom Grace is in the midst of a challenge to the traditional Calvin acronym for the doctrines of grace of TULIP with one much more in line with my own theology and thinking: BEERS. (And yes, please.) I’ve never overly identified with Armenianism either. But TULIP? Man, that just doesn’t speak Jesus to me. I have grappled with it for years, to be truthful, because so many people much smarter than I am live by this axiom. But after the years, I had to walk away and say “No. That’s not the God I serve.” So this really resonated with me, giving me legs to stand on a bit as it were even as I don’t agree with all of this either. I’m looking forward to the conclusion this week.
From Total Depravity to Broken Eikons
From Unconditional Election to Eternal Purpose
From Limited Atonement to Extravagant Atonement
From Irresistible Grace to Response to Grace
- A synchroblog about sexuality went through the blogosphere last week. I have my own opinions on the issue but I did like Brian McLaren’s response from a pastoral heart. It seemed compassionate. Nothing excludes us.
- It’s Farmers Market season again! Woo hoo! Our market is on Thursdays at Tipperary Park down by City Hall. But if you’re in BC, click here to find yours.
Off into another week!
